Carver Theatre, Marple (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a community theatre run by volunteers. We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. The Information We Collect

We collect personal information when you interact with us as a patron, season ticket holder, member, volunteer, or website user.

When you buy tickets

TicketSource collects and stores:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number(s)

Season ticket holders’ details may also be held securely by our Ticket Secretary in paper and electronic form.

When you join as a member

We store:

  • Name
  • Email address

This is held in:

  • EmailOctopus (for member communications)

We also hold

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone number
  • Address

in our membership records in our theatre application, Pocket Backstage (Privacy Policy — Pocket Backstage)

    When you use our website

    For security purposes we automatically collect:

    • IP address
    • Login date and time

    This information is retained for 30 days.

    When you unsubscribe

    If you unsubscribe from EmailOctopus mailings, we retain a suppression record to ensure you are not emailed again.

    4. Why We Collect Your Information

    We use your information to:

    • communicate with you about productions, events, membership, and theatre activities
    • administer ticket sales and season tickets
    • manage membership records
    • maintain website security
    • meet our legal obligations as a community organisation

    Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest: running the theatre efficiently and keeping patrons and members informed.

    5. How We Use Your Information

    We may contact you by email or letter (if we have your address) regarding Carver Theatre activities. We do not share your information with third‑party marketing organisations.

    We only share necessary information with:

    • TicketSource (for ticketing)
    • EmailOctopus (for mailing list management)
    • Lovable (platform for managing members, shows, actors and production members)

    All providers are GDPR‑compliant.

    6. How Long We Keep Your Information

    • Ticket purchase records: 60 months after your last online purchase
    • Membership records: 12 months after cancellation or death, or until the next AGM (whichever is later)
    • Website security logs: 30 days

    7. Your Rights

    Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

    • access the personal information we hold about you
    • request corrections
    • request deletion
    • object to certain types of processing
    • withdraw consent for mailing list communications at any time

    You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting:
