WHAT THIS NOTICE IS ABOUT

This privacy notice is to let you know that we promise to look after your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (2018), which came into effect on 25th May 2018. This includes what you tell us about yourself and how we use that information in relation to your being a patron or member of The Carver Theatre, Marple. This notice explains how we do this and tells you about your privacy rights and how the Law protects you.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOLD

When you buy a ticket for The Carver Theatre productions we gather information about you including:

*Name

*Address

*Telephone numbers (landline and/or mobile)

*Email address

 This information is held by the TicketSource website, and in the case of season ticket holders by the Ticket Secretary securely in paper form and electronically. This information may from time to time be used with our mailing software EmailOctopus but you will be provided with clear options to unsubscribe from that mailing list on first and subsequent use. Unsubscribed patrons will not be sent subsequent mailing.

If you join our Theatre as a member we retain information in:

  • Our mailing software EmailOctopus (only email address and name). You are always provided an unsubscribe option in each communication.
  • Our member contact database accessible to the Executive Committee may be used for direct e-mail communication, such as when we need to verify your details under GDPR, which we do annually around subscription renewal time.

As you use our website we will capture your login time and date and IP address as part of our security procedures. This applies to anyone accessing the website. This data is retained for security purposes for 30 days.

Note: If you leave the membership or if a member dies, the membership details are retained for 12 months or until the next AGM if later to allow reporting to take place on membership subscriptions.

WHY THE INFORMATION IS BEING COLLECTED

The information is being collected so that we may be able to communicate with patrons or members regarding the activities of the Carver Theatre or to ensure adequate security to our information.  

HOW WILL THE INFORMATION BE USED?

The information will be used to communicate with patrons or members by email or letter. This personal information will not be shared with any person or organisation outside the Society other than our online ticket organisation or mailing software provider (name and e-mail address only) ; and, particularly, not shared with any third-party marketing organisation. Security information is used internally help us keep the website and information safe.

SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your personal information with our online ticket organisation Ticketsource, so that members and season ticket holders may book tickets online themselves. Ticketsource are fully compliant with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). TicketSource is a member of STAR (the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers) which requires TicketSource to comply with an industry Code of Practice. TicketSource also uses the latest extended validation security (EV SSL) certificate and is PCI DSS compliant ensuring that tickets are sold in a safe and secure environment. HOW THE LAW PROTECTS YOU

General Data Protection Regulation (2018) law says that we are only allowed to use personal information if we have a proper reason to do so. There are several such reasons listed under the Regulation. The reason and legal basis for us to hold this information is our legitimate interest in communicating with members, patrons, registered friends and season ticket holders for the efficient running of the Society. The Regulation gives you the right:

To know what information about you is held by us

To obtain a copy of your information

To have it amended if incorrect

To have personal data erased

HOW TO GET A COPY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, HOW TO HAVE IT AMENDED AND HOW TO HAVE IT ERASED

You may request a copy, an amendment or an erasure of your personal information at any time by emailing registrar@carvertheatre.co.uk, or by writing to The Registrar at The Carver Theatre, Marple SK6 7AX.  We will endeavour to respond as soon as possible, but in any event within a month of the request.

HOW LONG WE KEEP PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will keep personal information for 60 months following your last purchase of a ticket on-line. Membership records are retained for 12 months following subscription cancellation or death.

YOUR RIGHT TO COMPLAIN
